New Braunfels: A Better Economy Than Most…
Sunday, November 30th, 2008“New Braunfels is solid. We’re doing just fine,” says Mayor Bruce Boyer as quoted in a very good article by Chris Cobb in the November 30, 2008 issue of the Herald-Zeitung. The reasons are the same ones that keep our real estate market relatively strong: population growth and jobs creation. We are growing at a very fast clip, but that, in and of itself, does not make for a strong economy,” said Chamber of Commerce President Michael Meek. “You have to have the jobs and the commercial tax base to go with that.”
Despite the national economic trends, New Braunfels remains strong. Population growth, job growth, new businesses starting up in or relocating to New Braunfels, and a strong tourism industry continue to help our town prosper.
